– - from “The Good Life” by Vicki Woods in Vogue’s January 2009 issue
On renouncing vices in the New Year, Vicki perfectly encapsulates my feelings on the impossibility of keeping all your resolutions in each new year. I’m glad I’m not the only one :)
Even though I never saw this on TV - not even in the three hours of “Chelsea Lately” I just watched - this is proof positive that Julia Allison did indeed make a guest appearance on the show.
And for that, I envy her.
ADDENDUM - I love that John Caparulo guy. I may or may not have a crush on him.
New Years Resolution #3
Brighten the day of a stranger
Although I can’t say I make a conscious effort to do this every day, I am well aware of the benefits to one’s well being when making someone else’s day. This resolution is inspired by Miss Karen Abad (see below) who brightened my day today by sending me a personalized, hand-crafted holiday card - and mind you, she has never even met me before.

New Years Resolution #2
Read the books I buy
To explain, I love bookstores. If I’m angry, sad, stressed out or altogether upset for any reason, I’ll go to a bookstore to unwind and feel better. For that matter, I love going to bookstores when I am happy-go-lucky as well!
And it is for this reason that I have accumulated a large number of books that I have every intention of reading, but just...
New Years Resolution #1
Work on posture.
I already sit up straight and I don’t walk hunched over - even though I am extraordinarily long - but my neck and shoulders are killing me right now and the only thing that feels good (besides a massage - would anyone like to volunteer?) is sitting up pin straight.
Besides good posture is sexy and exudes confidence - and I’ll always take a little more of that ;)

This site is adorable and a must-see for any do-it-yourself-ers (or aspiring DIYers, such as myself) out there!
We’re not very good at not loving each other.
– - my favorite quote from tonight’s cinematic choice, “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2”
Don’t hate, it was actually pretty good. I may or may not have cried…twice.
Girl holla! You give me bits and pieces, you tryna blame me when I don’t...
– - Timbaland, We Need a Resolution (w/ Aaliyah)
Sometimes this song comes on when I have my iTunes on shuffle and it automatically makes me feel so ghetto fabulous. I’d share it’s goodness with you if Tumblr would support an m4a file (ahem!).
A Bit About Me
1. What time did you get up this morning? Well, today is Sunday so I got at the ripe ‘ol hour of 10:30 am. Sleeping in is one of my favorite guilty pleasures :)
2. Diamonds or pearls? Diamonds are this girl’s best friend.
3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema? Slumdog Millionaire - and it was all kinds of wonderful! I want to take everyone to see it.
4. What is your...
My brother displays some silverware magic at my birthday dinner, much to my amazement and his amusement.
Watching "Notting Hill" For the Very First Time
Anna: Can I stay a bit longer?
William: Stay forever.
My family Christmas party was today, which meant lots of quality time with my favorite baby Jake, of course.
I remember last Christmas he was just a one-month old munchkin and I carried him around the entirety of the party. This year he was a little more mobile :)
My Brother is a Blog Fame-Whore
Me: I love my car. She's the apple of my eye.
Baby Brother: Why am I not the apple of your eye?!
Me: Because you're not.
Baby Brother: Can I be the banana of your eye?
Me (laughing): Yes, you may be the banana of my eye.
Baby Brother (realizing he was funny): BLOG THAT!
